Fathers Day 2009

Fathers day 2009 ended up really good. The day started off slow I got to church really late but I came in right when the kids were just fixing to start performing. They didn't have the TV going in the extra room so I couldn't watch. Well if you're wondering I can't sit in the chairs in the other room right now b/c of pregnancy issues! Anyways I got to listen in on the speakers that they have through out the house. So then I get through church and I think man no one has called me yet so I go to check my phone and it was dead. Completely! I couldn't even turn it on long enough so that I could call home to say I was going to be late. So at this time I am at wal-mart, looking for a gift or something for Tony. I get all the stuff and go home.Which was not good b/c I got griped out by Tony for taking too long. Oh well! Anyways I ended up having to go back to wally world one more time and I saw something else to get him. So we finally get back home. I am completely exhausted by this point but I keep going. I make the most awesome food so far that I have ever done. Or at least that's what I am told! LOl! Ok so here is a whole lot of pics just from yesterday evening. Not that anyone really cares but it ended up being a good time. Oh and one more thing! I am not the photographer in this series of pics and I'll just say that the photographer put their finger on the lens and made things really blurry so sorry for some of the bad pics in here also lighting was bad too! LOL!

You can tell I am exhausted here! This was my first time cooking on the grill! No I don't eat steak but I cooked it anyways for a few steak lovers in this house!

This is Tony's steak! The T-Bone, His fav! LOL! The green beans were covered up but you can see them sticking out! Oh and home made steak fries!

Britt's steak! No she didn't share either! It was a sirloin steak.

Alyssa's plate

Gabby's plate. She is a really good eater!

My moms plate. As you can see her steak was shared between the little girls!

My plate! I had one chicken breast and a piece of another that was also shared between the girls.Yes the girls got steak and chicken!

The girls insisted that daddy sit between them! LOL! And that is our computer chair b/c we have three broken chairs!

Dad's gift basket.

Hiding his eyes so he wouldn't see!

Reading Alyssa's card.

A Little Girl Needs Daddy

A little girl needs Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night.

Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.

Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
She'll always find him there.

I think at this point he was getting a lump in his throat! I found poems that seem to fit w/each child and I had written the poems myself but the kids all decorated the cards themselves.Well I helped Alyssa but that's only b/c she gets mad that she can't do it all by herself.

Kissin Alyssa!

Gabby's card!

The greatest gift I ever had
came from God, And I call him
DAD

So here's where he got another lump in his throat and he had to take a few drinks of soda to make them go away!

Zach's card! LOL! There was fire on the back of the card! So that's why he was holding it like that!

F.A.T.H.E.R.S.
"F" aithful.
"A" lways there.
"T" rustworthy.
"H" onoring.
"E" ver-loving.
"R" espected.
"S" upportive.

Britt's card! It was funny! Not the poem but the pic she drew!

My sense of humor comes from you, And all the funny things you do;
You make my world a better place, And put a smile upon my face!

Ok so at church they had either the moms or the oldest kids read 7 things that they love about dad. I spent forever writing this!

Concern: B/c you care about people.
Determination: B/c you're always compelled to "get'r'done".
Equitable: B/c you are fair and reasonable to others.
Generous: B/c you are always the first to help anyone in need.
Hard worker: B/c You always work hard no matter what you do.
Leader: You are the leader of our family.
Merciful: B/c you are always merciful when we (kids & I) don't deserve it.
Perseverance: B/c you never quit.
Resourceful: B/c you are always capable of devising ways & meeting needs.
Respectable: B/c you are worthy of our respect.
Tactful: B/c you always know what to say and when!

And LOVE: B/c you love us and we love you!

His Stuey shorts!

The gift on the right is a mini level and here he was saying "is my head on straight?" LOL!

A pen LED flashlight!

His fav candies!

Whew those pits are stinky! LOL! If you can't tell it's deodorant!

His way of storing his candy!

Britt made his fav cake. German chocolate!

It was a good day though and I hope it's one that he will remember!
