Then we went around downtown okc. This is bricktown. The original streets were made of bricks. Bricktown was also a battle ground once. But not a battle ground that you might think. It was a division of the black and white communities. That was back then and now the downtown area is live w/culture and lots of places to see and things to do.

This was our field trip to the grateful bean. It's the oldest ice cream shop in Okc.

Lisa Beth and Emily. Beth and Emily coordinate all the field trips. They are a couple of great gals!

There almost wasn't enough room in there for all of us qf families! Well not all are qf but those of us that are,LOL, we took up all of the space. There was two guys that came in and looked at all of us then walked right back out. Someone had to run out to explain to them that we were just having a field trip!
See the guy w/the bald spot.I could almost swear that was my BIL.He looked just like him.But the guy just stared at me and then went on about his business.

This is where you can watch them make the ice cream. Their ice cream was really good too. It had a nice thickness to it.
These bricks seem to be in pretty good shape for cars driving over them all of the time for yrs now.

Wow, you guys made a day of it! That looks like a lot of fun! What do we need to do to schedule a trip to the ice cream place?! :)
We love homeschool field trips! Looks like you had fun. What a great place to visit. Found you on my sister's blog afirefighterswife and thought I'd stop by for a visit. Keep up the good work!
God Bless,
